Code of Conduct
The Umbraco Kent Meetup is dedicated to providing a welcoming, safe, and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, or level of Umbraco experience.
Our values
- Be welcoming.
- Be kind.
- Look out for each other.
We want our meetups - in person and online - to be a place where everyone can feel comfortable sharing their work, asking questions, and learning from one another. We expect everyone attending or participating to be considerate, respectful, and collaborative; to refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour and language; and to be mindful of how their words and examples land on the people around them.
Unacceptable behaviour
The following are considered harassment and are unacceptable within our community:
- Discriminatory comments or conduct, including those related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, mental illness, race, religion, age, or body.
- Unwelcome nicknames, sustained disrespect, or deliberate intimidation.
- Sexualised language or imagery, and unwelcome sexual attention or advances.
- Sustained disruption of talks or discussions.
- Threats, advocacy of, or actual violence.
- Inappropriate physical contact.
- Publishing private information - such as a physical or electronic address - without explicit permission.
Sponsors and presenters are also subject to this anti-harassment policy.
Reporting
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an organiser as soon as you can. You can reach us in person at any meetup, via the Umbraco Kent Meetup group, or through the contact details on this site.
Reports will be handled in confidence. We will listen, take you seriously, and work with you to decide on an appropriate response.
Enforcement
Community members asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately. Organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including warning the offender, expelling them from the meetup, or banning them from future events.
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all Umbraco Kent Meetup spaces - including meetups at Dragon Coworking Rochester, virtual sessions, our Meetup.com group, and any other community channels - as well as in public spaces when an individual is representing the community.
